The Sogno was designed by Toshiyuki Kita, a furniture designer whose work sits in the permanent collections of MoMA and the Centre Pompidou, and it won industry recognition for blending Inada's shiatsu-based massage engineering with genuine furniture-level visual design. Like the Dreamwave that succeeded it, the Sogno scans the user's body to match one of 106 body-type profiles before tailoring its massage, using a 2D roller mechanism on an S-track together with full-arm air-cell massage (20 cells) for the forearms, hands and upper arms. It offers 8 shiatsu-based sessions — including Morning, Night, Stretch and the signature Sogno program — plus a gentler Youth Session, and it's notable for including iliotibial band massage for the hips and thighs, a feature aimed at runners and cyclists.
